20Apr90. The first train to pass us that evening was a disappointment, at the time it was anyway, but on reflection perhaps not. The evening Queen Street - Arbroath was normally a loco and stock, sometimes two locos as one would be on test from Glasgow Works, but not this day. A Strathclyde PTE liveried Class 101 started our evening off for us.

20Apr90. The Scotrail liveried MkII and III's had started to disappear for refurbishment and were replaced with Inter-City red stripe coaches. Here an Aberdeen - Queen Street service heads south in the correct formation with the DBSO leading, and 47707 shoving.

20Apr90. Looking south the King's Cross - Inverness HST came into view as it made its way north, to far away for proper id though, sorry.

20Apr90. If I remember correctly a couple of heavywight 37 had just arrived in the area from Immingham, this is 37707 with a Speedlink (remember those?) feeder service from Perth to Grangemouth.

20Apr90. Caught on the hop here as 47708 heads north towards tThe Granite City with is 'shove' from Queen Street.

20Apr90. Ready for this northbound, even though I had been caught napping with 26041 heading north between the shove and this Queen Street - Inverness with 47642 at the business end. The sun was getting lower in the sky all the time and gives off a golden effect.

20Apr90. The shot was lined up for the loco to be shoving and this was the hastily recompossed shot of 47706 at the wrong end of the Aberdeen - Queen Street service.

20Apr90. 47640 powers an Inverness - Queen Street train through the rich Perthshire countryside as the evenings photographic entertainment drew to a close.

20Apr90. Having been caught out with 26041 working a Speedlink feeder from Grangemouth to Perth we were nearly caught again as it returned south light engine as we made our way back to the car. We were also caught by the waterballiff, who despite our cameras around our necks wanted to know what we were up to, had we been fishing? All was sorted out cheerfully and we were told that anytime we wanted to come back just to give him a wave. I wonder, nearly seventeen years later if he would remember?
